<\/span>Creative Expressions Approach<\/div>
\n\nThe Flat Bay Band Inc. has long aspired to Mi\u2019Kmaw culture authenticity in creative approaches. While Flat Bay maintained a great deal of Indigenous culture, we were still affected by the Oppression Period of Newfoundland Mi\u2019Kmaw during the 1800s to 2000s. As a result, many mistakes were made to express our cultural authenticity when our revival began in 2000. <\/span>Our Creative Expression Approach has 3 tiers:\n

    Mark of Authenticity – Kwilmu\u2019kw Maw-Klusuaqn Negotiation Office (KMKNO)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\nThis is not uncommon across the nation and soon Mi\u2019Kmaw\u00a0artists will have an opportunity to certify their work, as part of wider strategy on cultural tourism being developed by the\u00a0…fix space\u00a0Kwilmu\u2019kw Maw-Klusuaqn Negotiation Office (KMKNO). They have developed a mark of authenticity for cultural products. This will certify artists as well as tourism providers of cultural experiences, and significantly add more value and appreciation for their work\n\nThey have developed a mark of authenticity for cultural products.     What is the Cost?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\nNo fee is required. We are non-profit and seek grants and funding to operate so that we can deliver our services in an economically blind nature – free to all clients.\u00a0<\/span>\n
